The M.S. Ed., Concentration in Online Teaching & Learning is a professional development degree program, built on the assumption that applicant wish to train or teach online in whatever subject area applicant have already mastered.

The university cover best practices in online teaching and learning with an emphasis on learning theory. The courses in the university program focus on helping applicant re-create their usual teaching or training materials so that they can be used completely online, with a focus on learner engagement and authentic learning outcomes. The university focus on the teaching and learning aspects for their particular set of learners, given their subject area of expertise and their institutional setting.

Most continue in their current workplaces, though many also make lateral or upward moves into online teaching and learning administration or tech support.

They are already subject matter experts in a face-to-face teaching/learning setting, usually at an institution that plans to move their degrees, workshops, or courses into a fully online format.

It will not show on either their transcript or diploma that applicant earned this degree online.

Courses are delivered entirely online as seven week sessions with one finals week, enabling applicant to complete their master's degree in as little as three semesters.

Since this is a professional development degree, nearly all the university students are currently teachers or trainers at a campus or other workplace that is "going online." MSEd-OTL program is meant for subject experts who are already teaching/training in whatever content area applicant have already mastered. If applicant plan to teach in higher ed, applicant will usually need a master’s or higher degree in their specialty area. The program shows applicant how to re-purpose their current teaching/training materials to best fit their particular set of learners, in that subject area, for whatever institution applicant are currently employed by.

Courses in the Online Teaching and Learning master's program are completely online.

Each online class has a start and end date, and specific assignments with due dates in most weeks.

The majority of students are already teachers or trainers, and the overwhelming majority of them continue in their current workplaces, though many also make lateral or upward moves into online teaching and learning administration or tech support.

Have earned a GPA of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter units of upper-division, post-baccalaureate, or graduate-level course-work

There is no guarantee that their application will be processed for the quarter applicant applied for if their transcripts arrive after the document deadline date.
