Applicants to the EdD online in Learning and Organizational Change program must hold a master’s degree with a GPA that demonstrates strong academic success, which is normally 3.0 or higher.

The EdD online program starts three times per year — in January, May, and August.

GRE test scores are not required to apply to the EdD online in Learning and Organizational Change program.

All applicants must have earned a master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Additionally, applicants must have earned a master’s degree with a GPA that demonstrates strong academic success, which is normally 3.0 or higher. The master’s degree may be in any field relevant to the applicant’s profession, but the applicant should also have the appropriate background, experience, and goals for pursuing an EdD.

To earn their Master of Science in Education with a Concentration in Online Teaching and Learning, applicant must complete 10 courses: eight required and two electives.

If applicant have already earned their Online Teaching and Learning Certificate , applicant can apply those courses toward the first four courses in the MSEd-OTL program.

However, the overall GPA must be a "B".

David Dodick, Ph.D. is a teacher specializing in language, literacy, and technology who has studied the implications for non-native speaking students of teaching and learning in the digital era. He created one of the first cross-cultural learning projects on the Internet, linking 171 students and teachers in four countries and two languages.

He has taught online from Shanghai, Venice, Sahara, and Jakarta.

Cheryl Saelee has worked as a program development coordinator and a distance education manager for a small vocational college before coming to California State University, East Bay as a Senior eLearning Specialist.

Additionally, he has taught seated and online courses in English studies, professional communication, instructional technology, teacher education, and political science.

Salley has presented at local, national, and international conferences — including the Missouri Community College Association, Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges, United Stated Distance Learning Association, Distance Learning Administration Conference, and Conference on College Composition and Communication.

Salley is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and Sloan-C's Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning as well as ITC’s Distance Learning Leadership Academy.

Melanie Shaw has spent the past two decades teaching and serving as an administrator in online higher education settings.

Shaw’s primary research interests include online teaching and learning, organizational leadership, and distance learning instructional practices.

This can include being open to the co-creation of expression in a constructive learning environment.

In addition to teaching, Taggart is an instructional designer, academic technology consultant, and learning management system administrator at CSUEB.

He oversees the campus online teaching and learning operation.

The M.S. Ed., Concentration in Online Teaching & Learning is a professional development degree program, built on the assumption that applicant wish to train or teach online in whatever subject area applicant have already mastered.

The courses in the university program focus on helping applicant re-create their usual teaching or training materials so that they can be used completely online, with a focus on learner engagement and authentic learning outcomes. The program shows applicant how to re-purpose their current teaching/training materials to best fit their particular set of learners, in that subject area, for whatever institution applicant are currently employed by.

Courses in the Online Teaching and Learning master's program are completely online.

Each online class has a start and end date, and specific assignments with due dates in most weeks.

The majority of students are already teachers or trainers, and the overwhelming majority of them continue in their current workplaces, though many also make lateral or upward moves into online teaching and learning administration or tech support.

Applicant must enroll in the one credit hour 9483: Capstone: Online Education. The capstone is designed as the means for applicant to synthesize their learning and demonstrate mastery of the competencies for the selected emphasis area.

Design and development of an online course

After enrolling in 9483: Capstone: Online Education, immediately notify their adviser about the online learning environment applicant will use for their project. Most students will request that a course is set up on a learning management system such as CourseSites, Canvas or Moodle.

If a capstone project is found to be lacking, the student is given the opportunity to make the necessary adjustments

If this happens, applicant must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during their first 12 hours of graduate course work, with no grade lower than a B.

Prepare electronic versions of their resume and statement of purpose , as well as two letters of recommendation. If applicant have electronic versions of their two letters of recommendation, applicant should have these ready as well.
